Chapter Philanthropy
The Zeta Chi chapter works hard to give back to the Poughkeepsie and Hudson Valley Community. Before 2022, our Philanthropy was RIF. Each semester the girls would visit local schools and after school cares to help children with their homework!
Since then, our philanthropy has shifted to Mental Health Awareness, something we support adamantly! Every semester we host Kappa Karaoke, bringing the campus and greek life together by singing for an amazing cause. In 2023 so far, we have held a fundraiser at Spoons in Eastdale, a small women owned business to promote Women's History month while raising proceeds to NAMI! This April we are also partnering with Ready Coffee for a philanthropic partnership.
Currently, we are planning Kappa Kickball for the end of the spring semester, a campus wide event to decompress before finals week. Expanding more on campus, we are planning a KKG x SGA Emergency Situation Training event for the end of April. This is to educate the campus and staff the importance of what to do in the event an intruder comes onto our campus. For MHAM in May, we are collaborating with MPorium and designed a "Be Kind to Your Mind" sticker.
We have also partnered up with other organizations on campus to run Marist's 'P.S I Love you Day' event. We are excited to bring our ideas to life, spreading the importance of prioritizing mental health.
